Richard Walker Born:

Richard played local football for Penkridge Juniors before being spotted by Crewe Alexandra. He worked through the various academy levels and was offered his professional contract in 1998. He went on to have a 12 year career spanning three of the four top tiers of the English game, playing in the Championship, league 1 and 2. Richard was fortunate enough to pit his skills against some of the leagues top strikers including Michael Owen, Nicolas Anelka, Wayne Rooney and Jermaine Defoe to name a few. Unfortunately his career was cut short by a knee injury. Although he played 27 games post surgery he never fully recovered.
